11.3.2006 Michal Burczynski is new World Champion

The sailing was finalised on Thursday with additional 3 races for A-fleet. Michal Burzynski from Poland took the win with positions 1,5,1,5 with 8 points difference to second sailor Lukasz Zakrewski. On third position was Matt Struble from United States.

9.3.2006 Skippers meeting on Thursday at 11.00

All the sailors are asked to take part to skippers meeting on Thursday 9th March at 11.00 at the launching site in Nässja.

9.3.2006 Racing postponed on Wednesday

Due to diffuculties to find a safe ice for the race cource on Wednesday the racing is postponed to Thursday.
Al the sailors have to wait on the shore and not able to sail on ice. We hope better conditions for tomorrow to continue the World Championships.

7.3.2006 IMPORTANT info for sailors!

Those sailors who do not yet have accomodation are requested to arrive at Motala city hotel (Stadshotellet) where the accomodation will be arranged.

Skippers meeting will be held at the Motala city hotel on Wednesday 8th of march at 09:00 AM. Information regarding the launching site will be given in the meeting.

7.3.2006 Entry for the European championships

Those entered sailors who have not registered to worlds are allowed to check in to the European Championships. Check-in before wednesday at 19:00 Swedish time at the race office. Check-in can also be done by a nominated person. The first start for the European Championships is PLANNED at 10:00 AM on thursday 9th of March.

7.3.2006 Championships have been moved to Sweden.

Due to weather conditions the regatta has been moved. The new site is in Sweden at lake Vättern, in the town Vadstena. The next start will be on wednesday 8th of march at 11 O'clock Swedish Time.

The weather forecast promises light wind on wednesday and increasing wind for thursday and friday. No snow in sight.

7.3.2006 Racing started at Lake Muritz

On Sunday the qualifications and one start for every 4 fleet were sailed. Conditions were changing due to temoraty snow falls and wind changes. The best three in A-fleet are:
1. Michal Burczynski POL
2. Jacob Schneider POL
3. Ron Sherry USA

On Monday the sailing was stopped due to heavy snow falls during the night. The race organisers have to consider now to move the regatta to an other place and continue racing latest on Wednesday. To find suitable locations for sailing is difficult for the moment and the change to an other country is under consideration.

2.3.2006 Information about Late Entries

Late entries are possible until Friday 3th March 12.00 local german time. Entries are to be sent to hotel Muritz fax +49 3991 141854. Assign the fax to DN Race Committee. The fee for late entries is 230EUR to be paid at check-in.

1.3.2006 The site will be in Germany, Lake Muritz

The DN Wolds 2006 will be sailed in Germany, Lake Muritz. It is located about 100km south from Rostock.
Accommodation will be in Hotel Muritz in City of Klink. Telephone to the hotel is +49 3991140.
There is few rooms available at cost of 34.50EUR per person, including breakfast and dinner.
There is also 6 and 8 person apartments at cost of 177EUR and 236EUR respectively.
Mobile cars can also stay at cost of 5EUR/day for the electricity and water. At additional cost of 17.50EUR the half board available. Mobile cars must first check-in at hotel reception.

28.2.2006 Regatta site.

The lakes in Poland are filled with snow. There is also some snow falling in Germany at Lake Muritz. Jogn is tomorrow checking the ice in Sweden, Karlskrona. The decision will earliest be tomorrow, Wednesday afternoon. Forecasts are quite difficult so please be patient.

26.2.2006 Important, Regatta site.

Taking into consideration the weather forecast and current conditions in Finland it is most likely that we are not able to sail in Finland. Today there is sailable ice in Poland, Sweden and Germany. The decision of the regatta site will be now considered together with IDNIYRA-Europe (proxy decision by Jörg Bohn). It is advised that all sailors should cancel your travel plans to Finland and prepare yourself to move to an other location. More information on Monday or Tuesday after more reliable weather forecasts from most promising sites.

23.2.2006 Ice conditions, update.

The weather in Finland has been reasonably cold and therefore there is lot of ice available but also snow. For the moment there is only few possible sailable ice areas in south-western part of Finland. For the moment we have also asked ice reports from Baltic countries, Sweden and Poland to ensure that the WC regatta can be sailed on good conditions. Weather forecast says cold for next 5 days and we will again check the ices on coming weekend. More information after the weekend. Lets all hope for good weather and ice.

28.1.2006 Preliminary starting lists published.

The entry for the wolds was closed 31st December and following 202 sailors are accepted to the regatta. All sailors are asked to check the list and to inform the regatta organisers for any claims. All national secretaries are asked to check and confirm that list of sailors from each country is according to your information. Late entryes are not accepted anymore automatically. The coming late entryes are put on the waiting list. Therefore all sailors are asked to inform for possible cancellations, so we can get all sailors the possibility to sail. The preliminary starting list can be found on the results page.

1.1.2006 Entry is closed for the DN Wolds 2006

Entry time was closed on 31st December last year. A large participation is expected from 18 countries and near 200 sailors. PLease see the Press Release on press click. The preliminary list of sailors will be published soon on this web site.
